Description
The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is a four-seat, single-engine, high-wing fixed-wing aircraft made by the Cessna Aircraft Company. First flown in 1955, more 172s have been built than any other aircraft. It is the most popular flight training aircraft in the world.
A Cessna 172 holds the world record for the longest continuous flight. From December 1958 to February 1959, pilots Robert Timm and John Cook flew a modified 172 for 64 days, 22 hours, and 19 minutes, refueling from a truck driving on a highway below.
